Los Angeles is known for many things, but being a rainy place is definitely not one of them. That's had to temporarily change thanks to a collection of atmospheric river events slamming into America's west coast going back to late 2022. The result has been a remarkable rain tally for the city that's bound to go up again this week when yet another storm system moves toward the area tomorrow. Since January 1, the National Weather Service says the City of Angels has picked up 19.37″ of rain. That's nearly 18″ more than what Fort Myers has picked up in the same stretch of time! It should be said here that it's not terribly unusual for Los Angeles to see more rain than Fort Myers in wintertime.
